LOOKING BACK - LOOKING FORWARD
It seems like a good idea to look back at what I did creatively in 2022. I feel as if I have spent most of my time on my computer last year but as I write this it is pleasing to know that I did do some stitching as well.
FLOWER MOON.
In 2022 I completed this quilt. It was one of those projects that grew from repurposing an old quilt top. It had been stamped with flower motifs that I incorporated into the design. They were still visible through the wash of colour that I painted over the fabric, before adding applique and hand embroidery. There are three more pieces of the quilt top left and I hope to get around to doing another piece this year.
#100DAYPROJECT
In February I took part in the 100 day project on Instagram. I can’t say that I plan on taking part again but I have ended up with 11 nine patch blocks that I plan to get stitched up this year. Look out for another post about this project.
LEARNING
One of the best things I did this year is enrol onto the Fiber Arts Take Two course by Lorna Crane called Perfectly Imperfect. Discovering your own Visual Language. I learnt so much and I had fun doing it. It also helped to remind me of what I already know, how to hold onto that and continue pushing forward.
A WORKSHOP
After what seemed like a very long time, I was able to run The Wild And Windy Sea workshop. It was so good to reconnect with some people that I know in real life and to make new connections with others.
I am repeating this workshops this coming March. As I write this there are a few places left.
Finally, I got around to launching the
Fabric : Paint : Stitch membership!
This has been such a huge thing for me and I have been overwhelmed by the response.
I am adding content to it and it is growing every month and there is lots more to come in 2023.
