New Plans for fabric : paint : stitch
I am making some changes to my subscription based membership. Read on to learn about the new upcoming content and get in before a price increase at the end of the month.
Since I launched the membership in Oct 2022, I have created close to 100 videos and over 150 blog posts.
Naturally, the bulk of the content covers the ins and outs of creating your own unique fabric using paint. The rest is made up of my Studio Notes, plus ideas and projects for you to follow.
It’s been a lot of work, and a huge learning curve as I have grappled with video editing and website construction. I am still learning and hopefully improving in those areas.
Over the years, I have realised that having a deadline or a clear reason to create new content for members provides me with the necessary motivation to keep my creative practice active and focused. I am very grateful to all those who have signed up for keeping me on task.
Membership support is the foundation that has kept me on track.
In recent months, I’ve started to feel that the content has become somewhat forced and less authentic. I find myself focusing more on what I think the members want me to create, rather than genuinely following my own creative inspiration and artistic instincts. This shift in perspective, combined with a strong desire to improve my overall work-life balance, has prompted me to make some changes.
So HOW IS THIS going to WORK?
Fabric Paint Stitch is not going anywhere at this time. All the content that I have added to date is still going to be available. I still want this to be a video library that members can hop in and out of when needed.
The number of videos I post each month will be less as I focus on a new type of content.
This new content will take the form of workshops which will build over the months.*
*The first workshop will be my very long awaited Pebble Shore. I began putting this together during Covid, but have failed to get it completed. I could get into one hundred and one reasons why, but lets just leave it there.
It only recently dawned on me that by offering it in the membership, the accountability, mentioned above, will be the factor that gets it over the finishing line.
Once each workshop is complete it will be packaged and offered as a stand alone product outside of the membership.
It will also remain available to access within the membership at no extra cost.
Other information
There will be an increase to the cost of subscription to any new members who join Fabric Paint Stitch after the end of this month. This increase will not affect you as long as you stay a member. You will not incur any increase in the amount you pay.
There will still be new videos added to the current sections, just not at the same rate as before.
I will still give you behind the scene looks into any new work that I create.
I believe that the new set up will give subscribers more value for money, while allowing me to focus more on my own creativity in a meaningful way. This in turn will be reflected in the content I produce.
FINAL NOTE:
I realise that the subscription model does not suit everyone, which is why the workshops will become available to non-subscribers when complete.
However it would be remiss of me not to point out that the option of joining the membership will give you much more value for your money.
