THIS IS FOR YOU, IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO EXPAND YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF TEXTILE ART TECHNIQUES, AND ARE READY TO TAKE YOUR textile pieces TO THE NEXT LEVEL.

DAY 1.

Learn how to make your own unique painted, coastal inspired fabrics, with the deceptively easy technique of fabric painting.

These will form the backgrounds for your stitched creations.

DAY 2.

Add stitch, in various ways, along with other embellishment, to complete one or more atmospheric coastal themed small textile art quilts.

This workshop focuses on dreamy, atmospheric landscapes.

You can work from memory, or use an inspirational photograph.

You will be provided with lots of many samples from my own work.

THE DETAILS

  • The cost includes all fabric and paint.

  • All the tools and equipment needed for fabric painting are provided.

  • A healthy lunch, as well as cake and biscuits treats are provided. Unlimited tea and coffee are included.

  • You need to bring your own sewing machine and threads, plus a couple of other supplies. Full details of these will be given upon booking, along with suggestions on thread choices.

  • The course is designed for those wishing to expand their textile art/art quilting skills. It is not a beginners class. You will be expected to have a full working knowledge of how to use your sewing machine, as well as an understanding of how to put a quilt together. The projects can be created in both straight line and/or free machine stitching. I also encourage the use of hand stitch. Don’t be put off you are not proficient in any of these. It is a class developed to help you improve your skills.

  • You do not need to have any experience of painting on fabric before this workshop.

  • Spaces are limited to ten places.

  • Full payment is required at time of booking.

  • Once payment is received you will get a confirmation email, followed by a welcome email containing all other relevant details, which includes directions and suggestions on places to stay. 

  • Please allow up to 48 hours for this to come through.

  • I am unable to offer accommodation or transportation. The venue is not well served by public transport and so you do need to have your own means of transport.
